Chris practices in corporate and commercial law. He sees strong links between his practice in mergers & acquisitions, corporate law (for profit and not-for-profit), estates and trusts planning and administration, pensions and benefits advice, securities and investment funds structuring and advice, real property structuring and transactions, and banking and financing. He works with business owners, professionals, high net worth individuals, investment management companies, and pensions and benefits administrators. Chris also works with corporate management, in-house counsel and other law firms on transactions, securities and investments, real estate, and has experience with the organization and governance of charities and not-for-profits. Chris received an Osgoode Certificate in Pension Law in 2020 and has his Trust & Estate Practitioner designation. The TEP designation is an internationally recognized hallmark of professional expertise in trusts and estates.

His representative experience includes:

  • Acting in private placements and public offerings, corporate structuring, business succession, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate financings, transactions, and development.
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements for corporations of all types.
  • Acting in estate planning and administration matters including advising on powers of attorney, the formation of family trusts, and the drafting of wills.
  • Acting in pensions and benefits matters including advising on survivor benefits, death benefits, long-term disability, workers compensation impacts on service accruals, and issues pertaining to intestate estates.
