Dylan is an advocate for the interests of clients predominately in the fields of maritime, environmental and natural resources law. He advises both institutional and individual clients on their interests before courts and administrative bodies by seeking innovative solutions to the nuanced problems they face.

By taking the time to immerse himself in the subject matter of each client’s business, Dylan is able to represent clients effectively and efficiently. While representing clients before various judicial bodies, Dylan has:

  • Assisted clients in the natural resource sector in environmental prosecutions;
  • Advised natural resource clients as to exposure in the event of regulatory prosecutions or civil actions;
  • Represented clients facing prosecution for offences under the Canada Fisheries Act;
  • Successfully brought actions in the Federal Court seeking to hold polluting vessels responsible for environmental remediation;
  • Arrested vessels in the Federal Court on behalf of clients seeking payment on outstanding amounts due;
  • Appeared on behalf of clients in appeals of the decisions of various municipal councils at the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board;
  • Advocated for clients’ interests before federal and provincial administrative bodies;
  • Represented clients interests in filing and opposing as third-parties in Freedom of Information Requests; and
  • Assisted in matters involving clients facing de facto expropriation of their lands
