Lara’s litigation practice focuses on administrative, commercial, civil and employment law.  With strong organization, written advocacy and creative legal strategy skills, Lara has experience on large and complex files involving both public and private sector clients.  Lara has appeared before arbitrators and has appeared before all levels of trial and appellate courts in New Brunswick.  Some of Lara’s recent client work includes:

  • Policing law, including professional regulation and misconduct, civil and municipal litigation relating to policing
  • Extensive elections experience including interpretation of legislation, opinions and elections court challenges
  • Appearing on judicial reviews and statutory appeals of decisions of boards, commissions, tribunals and other decision makers throughout New Brunswick
  • Advising and defending employers with respect to disability accommodations and human rights complaints
  • Providing advice to employers with respect to workplace policies, disciplinary procedures and compliance with legal requirements
  • Wrongful dismissal and fixed term contract litigation
