Paul’s clients include insurance, (P & I) interests, transportation companies, personal and corporate taxpayers, large corporate interests and companies in the resource/transportation-based industries. Some of the ways he helps these clients include:

  • Insurance defence work resulting from environmental/occurrences; asset losses, personal injuries files involving fleet transportation; claims on disability/critical illness policies; and defending clients charged with regulatory offences / Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) offenses.
  • Significant practice in corporate and personal income tax litigation; all manner of objections/appeals; advising during search warrants/special investigations/audits.
  • Representing large multinational shipping interests and protection and indemnity (P & I) clubs, in some instances acting as their correspondent, in matters such as ship arrests, collisions, cargo loss, environmental infractions, personal injury claims, regulatory offences and transactional work such as buying or selling ships, financing, licensing and vessel construction.
  • Reviewing and drafting transportation agreements, bills of lading, vessel construction contracts and addressing resultant claims/disputes.
