Thomas Laughlin receives Queen’s Counsel designation
Charlottetown partner Thomas Laughlin has been appointed Queen’s Counsel for his contributions to the legal profession and the general community.
Called to the Prince Edward Island (“PEI”) bar in 1999, Thomas has extensive litigation experience and is the standing agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. He has represented professional associations in the defence of medical malpractice claims and has worked with government and energy utilities on a variety of administrative law matters. For his work in corporate and commercial litigation, Thomas has been recognized by Best Lawyers from 2016 – 2018.
Outside the office, Thomas has volunteered his time to help numerous organizations throughout the province, such as the local branch of the Canadian Bar Association, the Hospice Palliative Care Association of PEI, Habitat for Humanity, PEI chapter and the University of PEI.
