Stewart McKelvey’s Halifax office relocating to innovative Queen’s Marque district

Stewart McKelvey is pleased to announce it will be moving its Halifax office to Queen’s Marque.

Queen’s Marque is located at 1741 Lower Water Street on the historic Halifax waterfront, and is The Armour Group Limited’s newest and most significant development.

Monday, March 9th will mark the official start of business for the office in its new location.

Considered one of the most progressive new developments in the country, the commercial space at Queen’s Marque is part of a larger waterfront district which will feature luxury leased residences, a five-star hotel, retail, food and beverage offerings, inspiring public spaces and art installations.

In addition to unprecedented harbour views, the development relies on the sea for its heating and cooling systems through a District Energy Plant with chilled beam distribution in the commercial segment. This technology is the first-of-its-kind in a multi-tenant building in Atlantic Canada, and will result in energy cost savings for residents while reducing its carbon footprint by 50%. The Queen’s Marque District is opening in phases, with completion expected in 2021.

“The move to Queen’s Marque represents our commitment to thinking forward, with innovation at the forefront of what we do to best serve our clients. Our new office will allow us to work differently; to collaborate and innovate in a space that is modern, efficient, and designed with sustainability in mind,” said Lydia Bugden, QC, CEO and Managing Partner of Stewart McKelvey.

Stewart McKelvey was the first tenant to announce its occupancy in September 2017, and will occupy four of eight floors on the commercial side of the District.

“We are proud Stewart McKelvey has chosen Queen’s Marque as its new Nova Scotian home,” said Scott Armour McCrea, CEO of The Armour Group Limited. “With this new district, we are looking to create a deeply local place with a combination of regional integrity and vision, two values that we believe are also fundamental to Stewart McKelvey.”

“We look forward to our people and our clients enjoying more natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows and frameless glass doors and walls; more meeting and social spaces; smarter and more efficient work spaces; and two exclusive outdoor terraces overlooking the Halifax Harbour,” said Rebecca Saturley, Managing Partner of Stewart McKelvey’s Halifax office. “We are pleased to have joined with Scott and his team at The Armour Group Limited on their vision to enhance the business and residential communities in downtown Halifax, while preserving its history and creating an innovative and eco-conscious space for all to enjoy.”
