Scott Norton, QC, appointed to the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia
As announced by Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada Jody Wilson-Raybould earlier today, Halifax partner Scott Norton, QC, has been appointed to be a justice of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
Scott was a leading member of the insurance defence bar, a commercial litigator and regularly cited as a leader in the area of legal malpractice law. He received his Queen’s Counsel designation in 2002, and served as the Stewart McKelvey advocacy team lead between 2008 and 2014. In addition to his busy practice, Scott has given of his time and talents to the legal profession and his community, particularly through St. Mary’s University, the IWK and Autism Nova Scotia.
