Paul Saunders interviews CEO & managing partner Lydia Bugden, as well as Law21’s Jordan Furlong, on what innovation in the law really means
In the latest issue of Canadian Lawyer InHouse, Paul Saunders, practice innovation partner, sat down with Stewart McKelvey CEO and managing partner Lydia Bugden and Law21 Principal Jordan Furlong, to discuss the current landscape of innovation in law firms.
Lydia and Jordan commented on the shift in how firms tackle innovation, and how this concept can be properly and successfully executed within a legal department or firm. Jordan notes that the intertwined elements of culture and leadership are important when discussing innovation with those who may not see its benefits. Sharing his view on this point, Lydia said that the long-term goal at Stewart McKelvey is to, “develop a culture of continuous improvement where our lawyers and staff are always looking to improve the way we work to enhance client value.”
