James Travers, QC, awarded Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award
Charlottetown partner James Travers, QC, has been awarded a Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award for his long-standing volunteer commitments and contributions.
This award was created by the former Governor General Roméo LeBlanc in 1995 and recognizes individuals who volunteer their time to help others and to build a smart and caring nation.
Jim has been involved with the Stars for Life Foundation for Autism for more than 10 years and since 2006 he has been a director and secretary-treasurer of Fathers of Confederation Building Trust. In 2010, Jim was recognized by the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada for his commitment of more than 20 years to the organization and in 2012, he was the recipient of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for contributing to his local community in Prince Edward Island.
