St. John’s partner Erin Best is among the nominees for the 2017 Top 25 Most Influential, presented by Canadian Lawyer. Voting is open until June 12.
This recognition is given to those who go above and beyond their profession, as well as positively influence and contribute to their community. Erin is included in the ‘Corporate Commercial’ category, for her work as a litigator, intellectual property and privacy lawyer. She is chair of the NL litigation group and one of only five trademark agents in NL. As a member of the Business and Arts NL pro-bono committee, she helped develop and launch a pro-bono program that offers free legal, accounting and marketing services for artists and musicians. As founder and president of the Kitchen Party Think Tank, Erin spearheaded efforts to develop NL as a music tourism destination. As an executive officer of the CBA national IP section, and chair of the NL CBA IP section, Erin has co-authored several legislative submissions on amendments to the Copyright Act and Trade-marks Act.
