Brianne is a Senior Litigation Associate with a growing practice focused on utility and energy regulation, which is an increasingly important and highly specialized area of law in Atlantic Canada. As one of the few practitioners in the province working extensively in energy regulation, Brianne regularly advises clients on complex regulatory and compliance matters in a rapidly evolving landscape.
Brianne understands that legal disputes can be complicated, time‑consuming, and stressful. She is committed to making the process as smooth and effective as possible through clear, consistent communication and practical, results‑oriented advice. Known for her attention to detail and strategic approach, Brianne develops creative and tailored solutions to meet each client’s unique needs.
Brianne has appeared before all levels of Court in Nova Scotia, as well as before the Nova Scotia Energy Board (formerly the Utility and Review Board). She has also acted as counsel in proceedings before the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board. Her regulatory experience includes electricity and natural gas matters, with a particular focus on rate proceedings, cost‑of‑service applications, renewable energy initiatives, and emerging regulatory issues affecting the utility sector.
In addition to her regulatory practice, Brianne has notable experience in commercial litigation, acting for clients in sophisticated contract and construction disputes. Her experience includes disputes arising from energy projects, supply and service agreements, leasing disputes, and construction‑related claims involving delay, performance, and cost issues. Brianne’s litigation practice is strengthened by her regulatory background, allowing her to effectively address disputes that intersect with complex statutory, tariff, and policy frameworks.
Brianne also holds a firm leadership role as Senior Associate Liaison, working closely with firm management to support professional development, mentorship, and associate engagement.
