Joel Reed is a Partner in the firm’s corporate law group. His practice primarily involves complex commercial matters including debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and infrastructure projects.

Joel frequently advises clients on credit agreements, share and asset purchase agreements, and project agreements with a particular focus on matters that involve complex commercial opinions. He enjoys working closely with executives, treasurers and in-house counsel to find solutions to non-routine issues and is deeply committed to timely and responsive client service.

Joel has a broad range of experience in commercial matters, including:

  • Acting as counsel in connection with many secured and unsecured lending arrangements, including both bilateral and syndicated deals.
  • Acting as counsel in the acquisition of transportation industry companies in Atlantic Canada.
  • Acting as counsel in connection with the acquisition of numerous seafood businesses in Canada, the United States and South America.
  • Acting as counsel in connection with the negotiation of infrastructure project agreements and related arrangements.
