Mathieu brings a practical, business-focused approach to every matter he handles, earning the trust of clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Known for getting deals done efficiently and pragmatically, Mathieu is the advisor clients turn to when they need sound legal counsel paired with real-world business judgment.
Mathieu’s practice centers on mergers and acquisitions, where he has guided clients through a wide range of business purchases and sales — from early-stage negotiations through to closing. In addition to his M&A work, Mathieu advises lenders and borrowers across a broad spectrum of secured financing transactions, including the structuring and taking of security and, where necessary, the enforcement of creditor rights when borrowers are in default. He also counsels clients on commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
Mathieu regularly advises on corporate governance and shareholder matters, including the drafting of shareholder agreements, managing shareholder relations, and representing clients in shareholder disputes. He also advises on securities law matters, including share offerings and related regulatory compliance.
Clients who work with Mathieu appreciate his direct communication style, his commitment to delivering timely and practical advice, and his ability to cut through complexity to find workable solutions. Whether a client is closing a significant acquisition, navigating a financing arrangement, or resolving a corporate dispute, Mathieu is a trusted partner throughout the process.
