Stephen practices in commercial real property, corporate and commercial law, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate formation and reorganization. His clients includes technology companies, banks, retailers, grocers, oil and gas companies, marketing firms, and hotels.

Steve has extensive experience acting as counsel to major Canadian banks and alternative lenders on financing matters and he currently acts as counsel for the Business Development Bank of Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador. Steve is familiar with the unique circumstances of federal Crown corporations and the process and flow of financing matters in this space. Steve has acted for a major Canadian bank on deals of all sizes and worked with many clients operating in the agriculture and agri-food sectors on financing and transactional matters.

His representative experience includes:

  • Acting in commercial real property matters including property purchases and sales, financings, and commercial developments.
  • Acting for financial institutions, private lenders, and businesses of all types and sizes in commercial transactions.
  • Acting in general corporate matters and completing significant corporate reorganizations for private businesses of all kinds.
  • Acting in various asset and share purchase and sale transactions including for a large grocery retailer, an auto supply company, software developers, seafood processors, and sports nutrition companies.
  • Providing corporate and commercial advice for an e-learning company before, during, and after its reverse takeover of a public company.
