Zoë is a management-side labour and employment lawyer and skilled workplace investigator. Drawing on her experience advising employers on a wide range of workplace issues, Zoë conducts intensive legal research and drafts opinions and briefs for the firm’s Labour and Employment group. Zoë works on matters involving union certification, collective bargaining, grievance and wrongful dismissal matters, interpretation of employment contracts, and policy development.

With extensive training and hands-on experience, Zoë conducts impartial workplace investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and code of conduct breaches. Her investigative approach is thorough, objective, and grounded in best practices.

Zoë has appeared before the Nova Scotia Labour Board, the New Brunswick Labour Board, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Small Claims Court.

Zoë brings a unique perspective shaped by her diverse legal experience. She began her career in South Africa with the Legal Resources Centre, the country’s leading non-profit human rights organization. She went on to spend five years with boutique firms in Toronto, focusing exclusively on employment law and workplace investigations. This combination of international experience and specialized practice equips her to provide practical, nuanced advice to employers across jurisdictions, making her a trusted resource for Stewart McKelvey’s national clients.
