Sean has a wide-ranging commercial litigation practice, regularly representing banks, trustees, secured and unsecured creditors and debtors in insolvency related proceedings and debt collection matters in addition to insurance defense and municipality law. Sean has appeared at all levels of Court in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Federal Court of Canada – Tax Division and the Court of Kings Bench of Alberta. Sean’s experience includes:
Bankruptcy and Insolvency
- Represented various creditors, royalty holders and lien claimants in CCAA matters in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Represented the Court-appointed receiver in a number of insolvency proceedings dealing with real property, general personal property and unique personal property collate including helicopters, all located across Canada.
- Represented various banks and lenders in private receivership matters and foreclosures
Commercial Litigation
- Conducted discoveries and negotiating settlement in a number of defense matters.
- Assisting municipalities before regional appeal boards and courts in defending council decisions.
