Meaghan is a labour, employment, and privacy lawyer in Stewart McKelvey’s Saint John office. She advises employers across Canada, including those in federally regulated sectors, on the full scope of legal rights and responsibilities in their relationships with employees and unions.
With over 15 years of experience working for international companies in the transportation, energy, and manufacturing sectors, Meaghan is a trusted advisor who delivers meaningful, actionable advice. Her hands-on business experience and legal expertise allow her to partner effectively with senior leadership to navigate challenges and implement practical solutions. She is also a certified change management professional with deep experience spanning privacy, human resources, health and safety, labour and employee relations, and workplace investigations.
As a trained workplace investigator, Meaghan conducts investigations into harassment, sexual harassment and assault, discrimination, and other forms of workplace misconduct. She also regularly delivers training to HR, labour relations, and leadership teams on topics such as workplace policies, human rights, disciplinary procedures, and attendance management.
Meaghan has developed a strong national and regional practice helping clients understand pay equity and pay transparency legislation. She has led the implementation of committee-led pay equity plans for federally regulated employers and advises organizations on compensation analysis, job evaluation, and compliance with pay equity legislation across multiple jurisdictions. As pay equity and transparency frameworks continue to evolve across Canada, her practical approach helps employers design and sustain equitable compensation systems that support both compliance and employee engagement.
In her former role as Privacy Officer for a large international organization, she was directly involved in contract negotiations, policy development, privacy impact assessments, and the implementation of information governance programs tailored to HR records management. She also developed records management policies and procedures to support compliance and accountability.
