Mark maintains a general litigation practice with a focus on public law, municipal law, police and professional regulation, and employment law.  He acts for public bodies, municipalities, and employers in a range of contentious matters, bringing a pragmatic and client-focused approach to legal disputes. Mark is an effective oral and written advocate, with a particular focus on novel and complex legal issues.

Some of the work Mark has done on behalf of clients includes:

• Responding to and seeking time-sensitive injunctive relief in various litigation contexts;
• Representing and advising clients on a wide range of public law and regulatory legal issues, including arguing judicial reviews, dealing with professional misconduct matters, and navigating constitutional matters;
• Acting on behalf of municipal clients on expropriation matters, by-law reviews, and statutory interpretation relating to municipal matters;
• Advising clients on employment law issues, including wrongful dismissal and performance management

In addition to his litigation practice, Mark is an instructor in Civil Procedure at the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law, where he brings real-world litigation experience to the classroom.

Mark’s background includes a clerkship with the Chief Justice of New Brunswick, which instilled in him a strong foundation in procedural and substantive law, as well as an appreciation for the importance of efficient, well-reasoned advocacy.
