Tauna Staniland, Managing Partner, St. John’s, appointed Queen’s Counsel
Managing Partner of our St. John’s office, Tauna Staniland, has been appointed Queen’s Counsel, as announced by the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, the Honourable John Hogan, QC. This prestigious honour is given to those who have demonstrated outstanding professional integrity and have made significant contributions to the practice of law, and the community.

She maintains a corporate commercial practice and provides advice on a range of transactional and day-to-day business matters to clients including public companies, owner-managed businesses, municipalities, engineering and other professional services firms. Tauna became Managing Partner of the St. John’s office in 2021, the first woman to hold this position, and is committed to the growth of our Firm, its people and her community. She is an executive member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, as well as a director of The Rooms Corporation. Previously, Tauna served as the chair of the Stewart McKelvey Corporate Practice Group in Newfoundland and Labrador, a director of The Tuckamore Festival, Inc., and an advisor of the Interim Board of Music NL.
