Scott Campbell, K.C., appointed to the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia

As announced last week by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Honourable Sean Fraser, Halifax Partner Scott Campbell, K.C., has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.

Scott was widely regarded for the depth and breadth of his practice, which encompassed class actions, jurisdictional disputes, commercial litigation, products liability, maritime and constitutional law, and legal ethics. He appeared before tribunals and courts across the country, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and received his King’s Counsel designation in 2025, reflecting a career marked by intellectual rigor and professional excellence.

In addition to his extensive practice, Scott devoted significant time to the profession and his community. He served as Chair of the Complaints Investigation Committee at the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, was a frequent contributor to continuing legal education, and from 2011 to 2015 taught Conflict of Laws at the Schulich School of Law. His longstanding volunteer commitments demonstrated a deep commitment to public service and the organizations he supported.
