George Caines, QC, a 2016 Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame Laureate
George Caines, QC, Pete Luckett and David Read will be inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame June 2, 2016 at the gala intended to honour their outstanding contribution to the success of a business and their effective leadership. George joins Nova Scotia’s most impactful business leaders, including Donald and David Sobey, John Bragg and counsel to the firm, Sir Graham Day and Rob Dexter, QC, all recognized for their significant impact on the province.
George joined the firm in 1961 and is recognized as a firm builder – shaping Stewart McKelvey into what it is today; a family of exceedingly smart, engaged professionals, as committed to each other as they are to their clients. As managing partner of the Halifax office from 1991 to 2003, George was instrumental in seeing the vision of a merged firm that values collaboration and collegiality.
