In addition to his practice, Gary has been widely recognized as a leader and mentor within our Charlottetown office and across the firm. He has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to public service through his work with community organizations and the profession, including service on committees of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and board involvement with the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada. He has also dedicated substantial time to other community organizations and to coaching youth soccer. His dedication to mentorship, community engagement, and the administration of justice has left a meaningful and lasting impact.
Gary Demeulenaere, K.C., appointed to the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island
As announced by the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Charlottetown Partner Gary Demeulenaere, K.C., has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island.
Called to the Prince Edward Island bar in 2005, Gary’s distinguished legal career spans two decades. He has built a broad and impactful litigation practice with a focus on commercial, healthcare, insurance, civil, criminal, and regulatory matters. In recognition of his professional excellence and contributions to the legal community, he was appointed King’s Counsel in 2020.
