Daniela Bassan, K.C., appointed to the Copyright Board of Canada
Congratulations to Halifax Partner, Daniela Bassan, K.C., on her recent appointment by the Federal Government as a part-time member of the Copyright Board of Canada. Daniela is the first member to have been appointed from the Atlantic region.
The Board plays a fundamental role in approving tariffs, resolving disputes, and granting licences as specified under the Copyright Act. It operates independently and reports on its activities to Parliament through the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.
